Hey, Jolly here. Your friendly neighbourhood portrait photographer (I know, how passé). I have been shooting things at sight for several decades now whilst working at a corporate job until fate intervened, I got made redundant which I took as a heaven-sent opportunity to turn my passion into a passionate profession.

I decided to specialise in portraiture because, growing up, there always were family portraits on the wall which, I guess gave us a sense of connection. And of special significance was my grandfather’s portrait. He was gone long before I was born but my father would tell us stories about him. Through these stories and his photo on the wall, I was able to form a bond with him that exists even today. He is a living presence in my life.

However, I don’t know what my grandma looks like because till date I haven’t been able to locate a photo of hers. A void that will never be filled. It, therefore, became my mission to create, for posterity, beautiful portraits of people (especially women) and their families, so that they can not only be a constant reminder of family bonds but also cherished by future generations after they are gone.

I also do personal branding photography because in this age of social media supremacy, it is of vital importance that business owners and corporate professionals, not only look their best, but also portray a brand that is authentically them.

I had the honour and privilege to give a very heartfelt talk on the Power of Portraits at TEDx Canberra in 2018. Do give it a dekko.

Feel free to call me up for a chat, or drop me a line, if you need to know anything else about me and / or about having your (or your loved ones’) photos taken. Always ready to spread the JOY 🙂
