Recently I was showing a lady her photos and she said she did not like her hair style. It looked okay to me and I was thinking it must be a personal preference and then it dawned on me that I had done it once myself.

Year 2017, I decided to get some photos of myself taken by a professional photographer in Canberra, Kylee. When she showed me my photos, I had the exact same reaction as my client – I did not like my hair style. I was expecting more curls and not so much volume and that thought coloured my whole experience.

When she gave me my photos, even though I needed them for my online presence, I didn’t use them. Yes, that’s right. I PAID for them and did NOT use them. I did some self-portraits and used those instead.

Then I changed countries and computers and forgot about the photos, until my client a few weeks ago mentioned her hair. Oops, I was guilty as well. I tried to look for them and they were lost in the myriad hard disks until today I was looking for some thing else and, entirely by chance, found the photos Kylee took.

Yes, they were taken a few years ago, but they are gorgeous. Now when I look at them, the hair is no longer an issue, I am grateful to Kylee that she took stunning photos of me. I am just glad that there exists photos of me from 6 years ago.

They say women like their photos 5 years after they are taken. That does not mean we have to put off getting our photos taken. Else, we’ll be putting off being in photos forever. A lot of women do just that.

Glad I had the photos taken then, sorry I didn’t use them till now.
