I would love to hear your story? What are the experiences that shaped who you are today?

I have 2 adult sons whom I am very proud of I was a single mother when they were younger and to see what they have done and achieved makes me believe it was all worth it.

Have there been any personal challenges that you overcame and grew from, that you would like to share?

Yes, quite recently I lost the love of my life, my darling husband David. ❤ We were married for 26 years, it has been 14 months now, there have been a lot of changes.

Research shows that a lot of older women want to know that the work they do is significant, meaningful and embodies their highest potential. What do you think?

Yes, I absolutely agree its leaves quite an uplifting, satisfying feeling.

What words of wisdom, based on your personal experience, would you like to share with others who struggle to see their own inner light and inner power?

Believe and have faith in yourself and be humble and respectful of each other.

Who are the women that you find inspiring and have influenced you in some way? And why?

My Mother. She was a very hard working person and instilled in us as a whanau to always be respectful, caring of others, and to appreciate what we have.

Why are beautiful photos of yourself important to you now?

Being in my early 60’s I am very proud to be at this age and time in my life.

Laurayne’s outstanding quality is that she exudes warmth. Her loving presence is very soothing and it seems she has come to this place of wisdom after life’s many challenges and risen above them all.

She lost her beloved husband some months ago to cancer and goes to visit his grave every weekend to remember him and pay her respects. She so wanted to preserve his memory and for him to be in the photos that she wore his watch, his tie and his korowai for some of the shots.

She bears her loss well, seeing it as an inevitability, and rejoicing and being grateful for the years they had together. She is ready to face this new phase in life with serenity and grace.

She is a great example of someone who has aged gracefully, bears her age well and is at peace with life and with herself.

I found Laurayne to be truly inspirational.
